I remember what a beautiful sight it was to stare at my mom's vanity and playing with her pretty beauty products: powder puffs, perfumes, creams and more. As I take a trip down the memory lane, I have listed some iconic beauty products that were our mommy's favourite and can be used even now for their great quality! Sure, the packaging may have changed but the cult formula remains the same inside :)
#1 Vaseline
I personally don't know anyone who hasn't used vaseline once in their lives! This petroleum jelly is a life saver when it comes to moisturizing your lips, or your lashes or even for your eye makeup removal. Apply it on your cracked feet for best results in winters, the uses are never ending.
#2 Nivea
For over 100 years, this white ream has been a leader in skin care. While the original bottle wasn't blue, the cream formula has been the same over the years. The brand is known for its amazing range of lip balms and body care products. I love using Nivea cream in Delhi winters :)
#3 Mysore Sandal Soap
This soap has been manufactured since 1916 when Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV, the king of Mysore set up the Government Soap Factory in Bangalore. The main motivation for setting up the factory was the excessive sandalwood reserves that the Mysore Kingdom had which could not be exported to Europe because of the First World War. It is free from harsh chemicals and sandalwood is recommended in ancient Ayurvedic texts for natural skin care. (Happened to be my mom's favorite)
This light sheer formula was a favourite among the women in 70s and 80s and even before that. The Maxfactor sheer genius foundation was used to add just that extra level of definition and quality to the skin as it would perfectly blend with the Indian skin tone. Give it a shot in 2016 we say!
#5 Emami Face Cream
The Emami cold cream was made with herbs and featured malai, aloevera and kesar. It was known to be a non-greasy cold cream that was used to provide skin with moisture, nourishment, protection from dryness. A winter go to product for our mommies!
