DIY BOTTLE LAMP WITH STRING LIGHTS

DIYs make me the happiest person! With festive celebrations still continuing at my home I thought of sharing the easiest DIY of the season that I am sure a lot of you would love to do for your bedrooom, living rooms or just for a nice center piece. Say hello to DIY Bottle lamp on guiltybytes...


For this tutorial all you need is an empty bottle of wine, alcohol or VAT 69 (as in my case) ;) Clear the bottle of all stickers and seals, make you you wash it off properly!


Next thing you need is a string light. yes the same mirchi light we have been using for Diwali decor. So the only thing you should keep in mind while using these string lights is that the colour of the light should be similar to the colour of the bottle. For say I am using VAT 69, I am using green colour lights instead of yellow. 


So the third and the most simple step is to insert the string light in the bottle. The more string lights you add, the better is it going to look. So make sure you use a longer strip. 



This beautiful bottle light is perfect for brightening centerpieces and table decor. Looks great with warm white fairy lights or mirchi lights. And I also created the same center piece with SULA wine bottles, so in case you have empty wine bottles, then this is how it will look...

Review: Oriflame The One Eyeliner Stylo For Perfect Winged Eye

My quest for a perfect eyeliner, for 'that' winged eye has come to an end with Oriflame's all new eyeliner- The one eyeliner stylo. The good looking liner pen in my current favorite and probably the only eye product I will start swearing by! 





I absolutely love the stick liner. It's smooth and glides over the eyes like a dream. I just noticed when I like a particular product I go ga-ga over it on my blog and this one is no less. As you all know that I have tried many other eye liners- the ones with gel base, liquid liners and and sticks but The One stylo beats them all. The staying power of this liner is amazing (I have worn it parties and while everything else was smudged off, the eye liner stayed). About 3 seconds after applying, the liner dries and it will will be there all day long. (An absolute winner for me). The nifty little pen applies JUST the right amount of liner. The tip is steady which will ensure that the wings of your eyeliner are always even. I strongly recommend it for eye makeup beginners and the ones who are looking at achieving precise lines without much practice.

Easy & Quick Recipes of Chocolate and Vanilla Frosting For Cupcakes

Everyone loves cupcakes! But admit it we all have struggled to make the perfect frosting for our little treats, isn't it? Today on the food lab I have perfect and quick recipes for Vanilla & chocolate frosting. Hope you enjoy the recipe!





Quick & Easy Vanilla Frosting for cupcakes
Ingredients:
1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
4-5 cups (480-600g) confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream*
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
salt, to taste
*I used amul cream

Make the frosting: With a handheld mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter on medium speed until creamy. It took me about 2 minutes to make the butter creamy. To this add confectioner's sugar, cream and vanilla essence running on low. beat for another three minutes in high speed. Add a pinch of salt if frosting seems to sweet. You can alter consistency of frosting by adding more powdered sugar. Decorate cupcake once they are cool with the frosting. Decorate with sprinkles, if desired.

This place has been my favorite ever since I have been living in Delhi. With an american diner feel and interiors, it offers great options for breakfast. From the sandwiches, omelettes to the Belgian Waffles, Pancakes with Sausages, coffees & Shakes, the list is endless. Situated in Indian Habitat Center, The All American Diner tops my list of breakfast in Delhi.

Here food meets great hospitality! This place is usually full, which is also a sign that everyone loves Elmas. Range of all day breakfast options include sandwiches, assorted breads, cakes & exotic teas. Sandwiches are fresh and their red velvet cake gets a big thumbs up from me. Located at Hauz Khas, you must check this place out, if you still haven't.

Chokola


To me Chokola is synonymous with perfect Eggs Benedict. Even thou they specialize in chocolates, the breakfast options include their signature hot chocolate, lemon tarts and scrambled eggs. A cozy looking chocolate room in Khan market is what you can't miss!

From cheese nachos to BYD bomb burger, this place is fairly new when it comes to business of breakfast in Delhi. So I tried the pancakes and they were delicious beyond words, you can also choose one of their tasty milk shakes! Even if you miss the yellow door, the insanely long queue in front of it will surely grab your eyeballs. I love their south campus, satyaniketan outlet.

With some moth watering breakfast options which is served from 7 AM until noon, Smoke House Deli can't be skipped when it comes to food.Be it pancakes, sandwiches bagels or omelettes, you can only expect the best here. Last week was rather eventful for all of us at Guiltybytes office. Elle India invited us to meet the man who absolutely needs no introduction, Scott Schuman. Honestly it was a dream to meet one of our favorite blogging inspirations. He is the photo blogger behind the platform, The Sartorialist  that was aimed to create a two-way dialogue about the world of fashion and its relationship to daily life. So while I couldn't personally attend this event, @Teamguiltybytes bring to you his 5 best quotes from the event.






My favorite quotes still remains the first one that talks about photo editing and post production. Being in this blogging industry, there are times when we add too much of contrast to ensure that an image looks more visually appealing and then there is feeling that stays within, a feeling that says maybe what I am trying to show isn't real when blogging is all about breaking way from stereotypes. But Scott justified that feeling by calling it an art, which is true as presentations matter a lot and editing requires skills, techniques and creativity too. Scott believes that taking beautiful photos is only half the job done. 

Incredibly passionate about what he does, he kept on giving credits of his success to his family and supporters. He also spoke about strong family values that we must continue to give to our children and the next generation whilst in conversation with Bungalow 8 CEO Maithili Ahuluwalia and Elle India editor Aishwarya Subramnyam. Hairfall is a common problem and be it winters or sticky season, hair is susceptible to damage, dandruff and breakage. So here's what I have got to say for a shampoo that claims to combat hairfall & dandruff.



I have loved using this shampoo for dandruff treatment, it ensures that the scalp is clean and that your hair smells fresh. There is a thing about this shampoo, that makes you feel come alive, really it is! I don't have a very oily scalp, but due to excess heat treatments and moving around my hair gets sticky and Head & Shoulders has helped me keep a clean scalp. While I am happy with the dandruff treatment, I am not too convinced with it's anti- hair fall properties. There hasn't been a significant reduction in hair fall but for the ones who are looking for a shampoo that could combat dandruff and help you keep your scalp clean and oil free, then you must try this shampoo! The male variant feels a lot fresh and doesn't make the hair dry at all. (You can judge it with a smile on his face already). Even with a thick consistency it lathers well since he uses it in small proportions only, so it does the job. This bottle contains oil that nourishes hair which also means that men can avoid hair gels and creams at time :) Again, it gets a big thumbs for for fighting dandruff and irritation!

How much hair loss is normal? Do you find yourself  asking this question too frequently? Well in today's post your miseries will be answered...

Hair loss (to a certain extent) is normal among women. On an average women lose between 50 and 100 strands of hair per day. But if you really want to check whether you are facing excessive loss or is it's normal then try this- Run your fingers though a large section of your hair (take about 50-60 strands). If you lose about 5-8 hair strands, then it's absolutely normal! If it's more than 15 then it's the time to get worried. There are innumerable causes of excessive hair loss such as stress, alck of vitamins, hormonal changes, just re-look at your lifestyle and make some changes.
