Oatmeal is the healthiest food that most of you would eat it for your breakfast. It helps you shed calories and protects your heart from diseases. But as we Indians love DIYs, we just can't stop ourselves trying new homemade recipes that can beautify our skin, and even oats have been used constantly as a beauty care ingredient. While many of you would have used oats in your face packs, scrubs have you used it for your hair? 1. Scalp cleanser:
As oats help in removing the dirt from your face, it works the same way for your hair. It exfoliates your scalp, soaks the excess oil and hydrates the hair follicles. You can use oats and brown sugar as a hair cleanser, make sure your massage your hair lightly and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash with shampoo. Do this once a week and keep your scalp clean.

2. Dry shampoo:
Instead of spraying chemicals in your hair, make your own dry shampoo with oats and prevent the greasy, limp hair. Ground oats in a blender and store it in a jar, when required, just rub it on your scalp and leave it for a while. Oats will absorb the excessive oil on your scalp and keep it dry all day. 

3. Anti-dandruff:
Good news is that oats can make your dandruff vanish. Oats are an excellent cleanser that expels out the dirt, grime from your hair, also the antimicrobial properties of oats will prevent fungi on your scalp and reduce the chances of dandruff. You can use oats, lemon, honey, as a hair mask and let it stay for 20 minutes. Wash with mild shampoo and apply this mixture every week. 

4. Healthy tresses:
Oats have high levels of zinc, iron, and magnesium that are essential food for your hair. Oats will combat hair loss and promote healthy hair. You can add oats in your hair mask or eat it daily in your breakfast and keep your locks strong. 

5. Prevents itchy scalp:
Itchy scalp doesn't always mean dandruff, it can also happen due to bacterial infection, allergic to shampoos. The natural treatment for your itchy scalp is oatmeal. It will soothe your itchy and even kill the bacteria causing the itchiness. You can massage your scalp with ground oats, lemon oil, rosemary oil and leave it overnight. Wash your hair the next day with mild shampoo. If itchiness still prevails visit a dermatologist.
