We constantly use gram flour, yogurt, turmeric powder, fenugreek seeds, lemons, fruits and various other wonder ingredients in our skincare regime. But have you ever used sesame seeds in your skincare? If no, then read further to know how valuable sesame seeds are for your skin. Sesame seeds come in two varieties- black and white. While both are immensely beneficial in boosting healthy life, white sesame seeds are used for the edible purpose, black sesame seeds are majorly used for medicinal purpose and have excellent benefits for your skin. Black sesame seeds are a rich source of Vitamin E, oleic acids, amino acids that improve the skin tone, and the presence of linoleic acids promote healthy skin and combats signs of aging. Take a look at how you can use black sesame seeds for nourishing your skin.
1. As a cleanser:
Due to the presence of Vitamin E, black sesame seeds will make your skin soft and supple. You can make a face cleanser with black sesame seeds, black tea and sesame oil (cleansing properties) and with a help of cotton ball rub it gently on your face and neck. This concoction will make your skin clean, hydrating and super soft.
Tip: instead of black tea you can even use green tea.
2. As a scrub:
You can use sesame seeds as an Exfoliator, it removes the dead skin cells, unclogs the pores and restores the radiance of your face. Also if you have tanned skin, then sesame seeds will remove tan and soothe your sun damaged skin. Make a face scrub with sesame seeds, mint leaves and honey. All the three ingredients are powerful, mint has cooling properties, whereas honey helps in moisturizing your skin. Apply this mixture on your face and gently scrub for 4-5 minutes, let it stay and then wash with cool water.
3. As a face mask:
When you use black sesame seeds in your face mask, you will be surprised to see the stunning results on your skin. As sesame seeds are a rich source of Vitamin B, essential fatty acids, zinc that helps in producing collagen, improves the skin flexibility, reduces the signs of premature aging and keeps your skin completely nourished. For a glowing skin, you can use sesame oil, yogurt, banana and powdered black sesame seeds. Apply it generously on your face and leave it for 30 minutes, wash it with cool water and make sure you apply this mask weekly twice for effective results.
4. As body oil:
For the monsoon season, this body oil is perfect. It is nourishing, removes blemishes, improves the skin texture and hydrates the skin deeply. All you would need is black sesame seeds, dried rose (moisturizes the skin) and crush it in a blender. In a container add sesame seed oil and the crushed mixture, massage your body with this oil and find your skin rejuvenated. You can store this oil for several weeks.
