A Mumbai resident Abraham Mathai, ex-Vice Chairman of States Minorities Commission and President of Indian Christian Voice, has sent a criminal notice under Section 295 (A) of Indian Penal Code for his unwarranted comments against the Pope. The notice was sent through Abraham's lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee, who also represents Kangana.
Section 295A states - Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs - Whoever, with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of any class of citizens of India, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise, insults or attempts to insult the religion or the religious beliefs of that class, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
Abraham said, "Mr Hrithik has hurt the religious sentiments, feelings and beliefs of Christians all over the world. I want an unconditional apology from him in the next 7 days."
Seems like despite Hrithik hibernating from all the media glare , trouble seems to be following him everywhere!
