I have not been a caped crusader, but I always wanted to get myself a beautiful outerwear that too in my Indo-western wardrobe. I waited for a while to finally select a cape style and I knew that I wanted long extended net cape with a dress. Cape is a stylish addition that will surprise you as to how versatile it can really be. Also, the cape I am wearing has been made out of a dupatta that belonged to my sister's engagement dress.
Capes are pretty unique, and wearing one can make you feel like a glam diva! They are perfect for layering and if you opt for an embellished, embroidered capes (something like I have), then they act as a perfect substitute for accessories or heavy duty jewels with your outfit. Capes also look really pretty when you’re wearing a dress or something more formal. As I had mentioned earlier, I just got a cape stitched for myself by re-using my sister's engagement outfit's dupatta. I loved the colour and didn't want to invest too much and the whole tailoring cost me INR 1,500, yep that cheap! It was as usual my mum's idea to go all creative and I will be wearing this with a peach coloured gown to a friend's cocktail party in Goa. Hope you guys like the look! Also, here's a photo of this cape in a before and after avatar :)
Isn't she pretty? :p
