Indian Wedding Dressing Up Guide From My Wardrobe- Cocktails, Mehendi, Wedding & Reception

I am in Chandigarh currently and I am blogging from my hotel room (being an entrepreneur isn't all that fancy you see). It was my best friend's brother ka Vyaah and I opted for a vacation that was due for sometime now! Without getting into the wedding details, I am going to share photos (although I posted some on my Instagram) of the outfits I wore. These outfits were (mostly) designed by me and my mommy and we kept them simple yet classic (I can say that from the compliments I garnered at the wedding celebrations).

Look 1 For Cocktails And Engagement

I  wore a peach gown by Vajor. I used this gown for my blog anniversary last year and it is absolutely pretty. It looked little Indian but didn't have a very strong ethnic feel to it so I decided to pair up a tissue dupatta with gota border and chaand baalis to make it work.

Look 2 For Day Time Mehendi Celebrations

The mehendi function happened at the ladke walas house and it was a simple yet beautiful affair. There was no colour theme as such but green was one of the most preferred outfit colour followed by ivory and whites. I will share some of the photos of the wedding guests and I have to tell you that Chandigarh women have a great sense of ethnic style. Coming ack to my outfit, I wore a green crepe tunic that had a Phulkari patch work on it and wore my leggings underneath. I also added some bangles to give the mehendi feel to the look and finished it up with ethnic pearl earrings.

Look 3 For The Wedding Party

Since it was a Sikh wedding, these guys decided to do a baraat and jai mala a day prior to the gurudwara wedding. This event also served as a extended wedding party and I wore a self designed silk anarkali with ankle length pants. Instead of opting for a floor length anarkali, I got a shorter version stitched for myself that also had some statement buttons on it. The highlight of the outfit was my kundan work, pink net dupatta (that was a part of my lehenga that I wore to my sister's wedding). It was a 3 meter long dupatta (owing to the lehenga) but it looked perfect with the ensemble. I wore another version of chaand balis with this outfit and curled my hair and did smokey eyes for the night.

Look 4 For The Day Wedding

I am a big fan of W For Woman and I remember piking this long, red kurta along with a grey flared skirt on my way to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The look worked like a dream team and I wasn't sue if I needed a dupatta to go with this combo (but since I had to go to the gurudware and cover my head) I wore the same tissue dupatta that I sported in look 1. Wore bling earrings and payal and boy I really did grab some eyeballs for it :P

Hope you guys liked my wedding diary! Do let me know as to which look was your favorite by dropping a comment below.
