How excited was I to see L'Oreal brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan unveil the new eye liner, Kajal Magique in Mumbai at the end of 2013. Ash not only looked stunning in a black, Dolce & Gabbana gown, but her marketing collateral's also persuaded me to try the all new Magique. Read on for #TeamGuiltybytes verdict...
Kajals or Kohls are a must in every girl’s beauty kit and there isn't a day that I don’t leave my house without applying Kajal in my eyes. These days the market is flooded with decently priced Kajals like Maybelline Colossal Kajal and Lakme Eyeconic both doing very well among the consumers.
People are divided between the two and I personally like Maybellines’s Colossal Kajal better. Loreal India has recently launched a Kajal in this category called Loreal Paris Kajal Magique, claiming it to be the queen of Kajals. It is said to be powered with a new generation formula and mineral pigments for a deep intense color payoff. Along with providing a great finish, it is also enriched with ingredients like Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter, Olive Oil Esters and Vitamin C Derivative, which provide extraordinary care and a soothing feeling to the eyes. Since it is ophthalmologically tested, it is safe and suitable for contact lens wearers. Designed to last for up to 12 hours, Kajal Magique is smudge proof, waterproof and non-transferable. It is priced at Rs 245.
Loreal Kaljal Magique comes in a very sheek Electric pink and black colour packaging. I personally love the packaging as its very girly and also pink being my favorite colour. This Kajal glides smoothly on the eye, it is doubles up great as a liner as well. The colour isn’t the darkest of the black but it delivers a decent dose of black color that glides on effortlessly and blends beautifully. I had to apply 2-3 times to get the right colour and intensity. The kajal lasts for good 6 hrs without smudging (not for 12 hrs as claimed by Loreal). It’s easy-glide formula allows for maximum comfort and outstanding staying power.
Pros
•Glides smoothly
•Smudge proof for 6 hrs
•Great packaging
•Lasts long
•Decently priced
Cons
•Not the darkest of blacks as compared to Lakme and Maybelline. Have to be applied 2-3 times to get it right
My verdict is Loreal Paris Kajal Magique is a great kajal and I would definitely recommend the readers to use it. It will give a good competition to its counterparts Lakme Eyeconic and Maybelline Collosal and it might just become a favorite of a lot of people out there. It a practical beauty essential and I will definitely keep it in my beauty kit. What about you? Use it and let me know!
